Itinerary
Morning: The Scenic Route & The Famous Goats
We pick you up from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech around 8:00 AM. Trust me, an early start is key to maximizing your time at the coast. The drive takes about 3 hours, but it’s far from boring. The landscape shifts dramatically from the red earth of Marrakech to the rolling green hills of the Argan forest.
About halfway there, keep your eyes peeled (or just ask your driver!). We’ll make a special photo stop at the Argan groves. This is the only place in the world where you’ll see goats balancing high up in the tree branches. It looks Photoshopped, but I promise you, it’s real. We’ll also grab a quick coffee to stretch our legs before the final stretch to the coast.
Midday: Arrival & Free Time (4 Hours)
We arrive in Essaouira around 11:30 AM. Your driver will drop you off at a central parking area right next to the Medina and the Beach. Here is where your adventure begins.
For the next 4 hours, you are the captain. You don't have to stick to a group.
Want history? Walk through the stone gates into the UNESCO Medina and find the Skala ramparts (Game of Thrones set).
Hungry? Head straight to the port to buy fresh fish and have it grilled right there, or find a hip cafe for a veggie tagine.
Beach bum? Walk down to the sand, rent a lounger, and watch the kitesurfers.
It’s self-guided, so you can move as fast or as slow as you like.
Afternoon: Return to Marrakech
At 4:00 PM sharp, you’ll meet the driver and the rest of the group back at the drop-off point. After a full day of sea air, the drive back is usually pretty quiet, most people nap! We’ll have you back in Marrakech around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM, dropping you off near your accommodation or the main square.
