Frequently asked questions

Do I need hiking boots?

You don't need professional gear, but leave the flip-flops at the hotel. Sturdy sneakers or walking shoes are a must. The path can be slippery with mud and mist, and there are a lot of stairs.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes, kids love the monkeys! However, be aware that the hike involves a lot of walking and some steep steps. If you have a stroller, this trip will be very difficult.

Can we swim?

In the summer? Absolutely. There are natural pools at the bottom of the falls where locals and tourists cool off. Just be careful—the water is refreshing (read: cold!) and the rocks can be slippery.

Why is the drive so long?

Morocco is big! Ouzoud is deep in the mountains, about 150km from Marrakech. The roads are winding, so we take it slow for safety. Bring a book, a podcast, or just enjoy the changing landscapes.
