When is the best time to visit Morocco?
The most comfortable times to visit Morocco are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The weather is warm but not overwhelmingly hot, making it perfect for both hiking the Atlas Mountains and exploring the Sahara Desert. However, our tours run year-round, and winter (December to February) is still a beautiful, cooler time to visit the southern cities like Marrakech and Ouarzazate.
Is Morocco safe for tourists?
Yes, Morocco is considered one of the safest countries in North Africa for travelers. The tourism industry is highly regulated, and violent crime against tourists is very rare. As with any major tourist destination, simply practice basic common sense: keep an eye on your belongings in crowded places like the Marrakech Medina and use licensed tour operators for your excursions.
What is the dress code for travelers in Morocco?
Morocco is a conservative, Muslim country, so dressing modestly is highly recommended. Both men and women should aim to cover their shoulders and knees, especially when walking through local villages or city Medinas. Loose, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton are perfect for the heat. If you are heading into the desert or mountains, always pack warm layers, as temperatures drop significantly at night.
Should I book my day trips and desert tours in advance?
We highly recommend booking your excursions at least a few weeks before you arrive, especially if you are traveling during the peak 2026 seasons (spring and autumn). Our shared tours (like the Zagora or Merzouga trips) have a strict maximum capacity of 17 passengers to ensure comfort. Booking ahead guarantees your seat and locks in your itinerary so you can just relax once you land.
Do I need cash, or can I use credit cards?
You will definitely need cash. The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). While larger hotels, nice restaurants, and our booking platform accept credit cards, Morocco is still largely a cash-based economy. You will need Dirhams to buy water, pay for small lunches on the road, tip your local guides, and shop in the souks. ATMs are widely available in Marrakech and other major cities.
What is the difference between a shared tour and a private tour?
A shared tour means you book a seat in a minibus (maximum 17 people) with other travelers. It is budget-friendly and a great way to meet people, but the itinerary and departure times are fixed. A private tour means the vehicle is reserved exclusively for your group. This gives you total flexibility to start later, stop for photos whenever you want, and customize the route to your exact preferences.
